Provenance
Surfaced separately from the sketchbook catalogued as CF-020 — different custody chain, different decade of recovery. It was not sought out to complete that case. It was flagged afterward, once cataloguers noticed the overlap.
Why authorship is disputed
The manuscript opens with a scene the subject could not have witnessed firsthand — her father, in a country she is never documented as having visited, years before her own birth. Either this is not a first-person account, or it is a first-person account that absorbed family narrative as memory. The archive does not resolve which.
Restriction — Article I, Section 3
This manuscript states directly and repeatedly what it believes was present with her, and gives it a name. That is a claim the archive does not confirm, cannot confirm, and is not structured to evaluate. It is preserved here as belief, not as evidence of the Signal's nature.

opening pages
"...he told himself it meant nothing, and told himself the same thing about the weeks that followed... he did not bring back the woman, or ask her name twice, or look too closely at the statue in the courtyard — a creature half bird, half woman, watching over a threshold that wasn't there anymore."
No location in this passage is corroborated. Compare, without conclusion, to Archive Origin Site Alpha (Presedo) — no shared coordinates, no shared date. Likely unrelated.
middle section, unnumbered page
"...I don't think whatever this is only wanted me. I think it's patient. I think there were others before me who didn't have the word for it yet."
The only line in the manuscript that gestures toward CF-019 or any case beyond its own subject. Presented as a feeling, not a finding. The manuscript names no other subject and offers nothing an archivist can verify.
closing pages
"...she did not become someone who did what had been done to her. She became someone who could look directly at it and not need anyone's permission to keep the record straight."
Compare to CF-020's final entry: "Not the girl it happened to. Just the one keeping the record straight." Close enough to note, not close enough to call the same hand.

No shared name, location, or object. Shares only the unprompted self-descriptor "curator," arrived at independently.
CF-020
Same subject, by inference — the manuscript's closing language closely mirrors CF-020's own final entry. Manuscript adds a claimed origin CF-020's sketchbook does not itself contain or confirm.
Not resolved
Whether the manuscript is the subject's own retrospective account, a family reconstruction, or a work of fiction written about her afterward. All three remain open.
